I mainly tutor middle school and high school math, from beginning algebra through Calc 1. I've also tutored math subjects outside of that range, including statistics and proof-writing, so feel free to contact me if you think we'd be a fit even if your specific math subject isn't listed.
I've worked with students who are confident about math and students who are anxious, and I've worked with adults who are taking their first math class after years of being out of school. I haven't done this before, but I would also really like to work with a parent who wants to get better at math so they can help their own kids with homework!
I am pretty casual and informal during tutoring sessions. I'm not a teacher, and this is not a class. I create worksheets and study guides as necessary, but I don't assign homework or grades. A typical session includes homework review, explanation of concepts, and practice problems that we work through together. I try to be upfront when I don't know the answer to something, and I'll do my best to figure it out for you. If you're a student, I'll communicate with you directly about your progress. If you're a parent (and your kid agrees), I'll email you about what we cover and how it's going. If that sounds like what you're looking for, send me an email and we can get started.
I have a BA in mathematics, and I did two years of graduate-level study in statistics. I have been tutoring on and off since 2015, and I was a TA through most of grad school. I also worked for several years at a textbook company creating high school math content.
I provide hour-long individual tutoring sessions. I price sessions between $50 and $80 an hour, depending on grade level and subject. This also includes homework checking once a week via text or email outside of scheduled sessions. I accept payment via Venmo, PayPal, and cash.
I do virtual tutoring via Google Hangouts/Chat using a virtual whiteboard and tablet for demonstration. In-person tutoring is available if you're located within 10 miles of me (Oltorf/Pleasant Valley). I am fully vaccinated, and I require masks for all parties for in-person tutoring.
I am now accepting regular weekly students for Spring 2024 for the following days and times:
I also have limited one-off availability on other days, including weekends.
If you have a conflict, I'm open to rescheduling depending on my availability.

I live in Austin, TX with my partner and two cats. I'm a former data analyst and current bookseller (ask me for recommendations!). I'm one of those people who has a million hobbies, so I'm sure we'll have something in common.
